Cause of extinction: Validation regression
KLADOS archive
Every solution here once lived in another world.
KLADOS doesn’t erase failure. Every candidate that dies leaves evidence behind: failed branches, near survivors, and ideas that disappeared in one world only to emerge elsewhere.
The collection principle
Thousands of candidate solutions can be born during a KLADOS experiment. Most become fossils. That isn’t wasted compute. Failure becomes evidence.
Nothing survives a world except evidence.
Nothing survives an experiment except evidence and explicitly approved crystallization artifacts.
Demonstration collection
The public fossil feed is not connected. Every record below is a demonstration of the safe museum shape—not a claim about a canonical KLADOS experiment. No capability bodies, source, genomes, or compiler rules are exposed.

Cause of extinction: Constraint gate invalidated family
Convergent fossils · presentation exhibit
A failed idea becomes scientifically interesting when materially similar behavior independently appears in another isolated world. The two lineages approach the same behavior without sharing ancestry.
The Almost Wing
Near Survivor is a presentation classification for candidates that reached a late gate but missed a required objective or validation. The failed requirement—not sentiment—determines the exhibit.
Mass Extinction Events
A strong constraint can invalidate many related approaches at once. Mass Extinction is a presentation grouping around that shared gate evidence, not a canonical engine status.
