Pricing · try it, borrow it, own it

Three ways to get SHPBL

The method does not change with the price. What changes is whether the run is kept, whether the library is readable as full rows, and whether you hold the software as files.

Try it

Free evaluation

$0

No key, no card, no sign-up over MCP or the API.

Run the whole method against a repository and read everything it found. Nothing is written back, and no reusable library is retained for you.

  • The full audit: what exists, what works, what hurts, what must not be touched
  • Every capability the repository already contains, with signature, file, line and stated contract
  • The ranked repair order, and the harvest walked batch by batch
  • Library candidates cited by ID and name — enough to see what is already solved
  • Reads a private repository too, when you pass a GitHub token or connect the SHPBL GitHub App
  • Paced at 60 calls a minute rather than metered
  • Or run it here: the free runner on the home page needs only an account, one run every 72 hours, and its report stays readable
  • No write-back: no branch, no pull request, no export
  • No retained reusable library of your own — a cached report is not retained intelligence
  • No capability contracts or verification axes, only citations

Practitioner

$39/mo

25,000 tool calls a month. Cancel any time.

Hosted access to the intelligence over MCP and the HTTP API, with every run kept — written back into your own repository.

  • Everything in the free evaluation, and the result persists
  • 25,000 tool calls a month, one key, both transports (MCP and HTTP API)
  • `write_to_repo` — repairs, ledgers and reports land as a branch and a pull request
  • `library_search` — the component ledger and discovery vault as cited rows, with class and verification axes
  • `library_document` — any volume in full, the catalog outline, the report template
  • Run export, sealed run records, cross-repository comparison
  • Your runs are yours: no licence back to us, no claim on your repairs or harvests
  • Not ownership: this is hosted access, and it stops when the subscription stops
  • The library and the method stay ours — you borrow the intelligence, not the corpus

Complete Master Library

$499

One purchase. Perpetual licence to that release.

The software itself, as files: the catalogued capabilities, the evaluation system and the seven strategy volumes.

  • Software files, delivered — not hosted access
  • A perpetual licence to the release you purchased (LicenseRef-CMPSBL-Perpetual-1.0)
  • No SHPBL runtime in the path: no key check, no meter, no expiry on that release
  • No per-seat subscription for the release you own
  • One purchase, two shipments — a licensed edition also goes to a nonprofit you choose
  • Not a subscription to future releases: the licence covers the release you bought
  • Hosted MCP/API access and its allowance are the Practitioner plan, bought separately

Order the library

“Start here” marks where most people should begin, not a popularity claim. Free and Practitioner are the same hosted server; $499 is the software itself, ordered here.

Why $499 can make sense

$499 once. Own the purchased release instead of repeatedly paying to recreate the intelligence inside it.

01

The cost you are avoiding is recreation, not subscription

Every capability in the library was designed, implemented, verified against stated axes and catalogued once. The alternative to owning it is generating something similar again — per repository, per project, per session — and verifying it again each time.

02

Reuse is the unit, not lines of code

The library is screened against your repository so that most of it is rejected. What survives is applied with its provenance intact: source capability, parents, licence status and acceptance rule.

03

Ownership removes the runtime from the path

The release you purchase carries a perpetual licence and calls nothing. No key check, no meter, no expiry, no per-seat count on that release.

We do not publish a dollar saving. Any quantified return has to come from a documented methodology applied to your own repository — the evaluation names the components and the work involved so you can do that arithmetic yourself.

The fine print, answered

No dark corners: the ceiling, the overage, the sharing, the refund, the limits and what a free run keeps.

01

What happens at call 25,001 in a month?

The paid tools stop for the rest of the calendar month and say so in plain words. The counter resets on the first. The free tools keep working, because they need no key at all — so you are never left mid-run with no way forward.

A refused call is never charged.

02

Do you sell overage calls?

No, and you are never billed for going over. If you hit the ceiling with real work in progress, email dev@cmpsbl.com and we lift it for the rest of that month, once, at no charge.

03

Can a team share one Practitioner key?

One key per person, on as many machines as that person uses — laptop, desktop, CI. A team buys a key per person. There is no device check anywhere in the system, so this is an honest request rather than an enforcement.

04

What is the refund policy?

Fourteen days, no interrogation, either way. A Practitioner month is refunded in full within fourteen days of the charge. The $499 library is refunded within fourteen days of delivery, and the perpetual licence to that release ends when the refund is issued. Email dev@cmpsbl.com.

05

Are there account or device limits on a key?

None. No seat service, no device fingerprint, no activation call home. The key is the only thing checked, and only at the moment a paid tool is called.

06

Does a free run keep anything?

It depends which free run. Over MCP or the HTTP API nothing of yours is stored — no repository content, no report, no library; the result lives in your chat window, and the only trace is an in-memory pacing counter that disappears within the minute. The free runner on this site is account-gated, and its audit report is deliberately cached and published so a repeat of the same commit is instant and free for everyone. Either way, no harvested intelligence is retained in a personal reusable library.

Retention of reusable intelligence — not possession of a report — is what the Practitioner plan adds.
